The sun will do that, here's a photo from early September, looked like someone went crazy with orange marking paint or there were large and small embers everywhere. It was taken in our woodlot, highest point on the land here at 650' in elevation, back side faces due west where the sun was setting, makes for an interesting photo when that sun starts to set.

I was at my sister's in Ga last Thanksgiving and was looking for tools in the barn. I noticed the sun filtering through the knots and sap wood of the barn wall. All I had to take a pic was my phone but you'll get the idea -

Beautiful pictures......
Billy, if the leaves weren't all green that middle
picture sure looks like a woods that had just been
burned out with a forest fire.
I took a picture of a sunset that looked like a forest fire in back of my place last year.
