Covering the cutting edge of a snow plow

Got the idea from Farm Show: took a 6 foot piece of 2 1/4 inch pipe and cut a slot the length of it wide enough to fit over the cutting edge of the snow plow blade, welded on some brackets to attach it to the plow (also tack welded it on the front to make me feel better). Now the plow glides over gravel and sod without digging in, no more gravel and divits in the yard next Spring.

Your about 25 years late! I made something similar in 1989! Check the Harry Ferguson Forum archives.

I used a 3 inch pipe and welded 3 brackets so I can bolt it on using the bolts holding the edge on the blade. Saved from cutting a grove.

I use mine before it snows to move the loose gravel off the crown of the road.

If the gravel isn't frozen good, it can still remove some gravel. I listen for the pipe hitting the gravel and don't push snow on the grass.

If you have ruts in yard, put loose dirt in groves and it levels the yard too.

They must have that on the patrol that is plowing the township roads around here. It doesn't throw much gravel off the road but unfortunately, leaves about 4 inches of snow as well.

I saw a guy replace the shoes on his blower with small lawn mower wheels, seemed to work really good.

I did that on a 6 foot snowblower on my skid-loader and it works
great. You can blow snow off grass without gouging the sod.
