Gen idiot light

I have a Corvair that has the idiot light for the alt. The belt that drives the alt also drives the blower for engine cooling. So if a belt comes off or brakes the gen light comes on and that is also how you know you might have threw the belt. without the blower the engine will overheat very quick. I would like to wire in a buzzer so I could maybe not overlook the light. It would be kinda like wearing both suspenders and a belt. How would I wire in a sound alert? Radio Shack has piezo buzzer that is small I'm thinking about.

What really works are the old seat belt buzzers. Nice and loud and they were in every car back in the day. One wire to ground and the other to your wire.

That little pizeo buzzer is low power drain and high pitched sound that will get your attention.
Just wire it to the same two wires that run to the generator light, making sure the piezo buzzers red + lead goes to the gen light wire that goes to the ignition switch, with the other pizeo black negative wire attached to the gen light wire that goes to the regulator or generator A terminal.
This will wire the gen light and pizeo buzzer in parellel so both will operate.

You can test which gen light wire goes to the ignition switch by removing the gen light bulb and stick your 12V test light needle in the socket to touch the bulb contact (with the test light clip grounded to bare metal). With the engne off and ign switch on, the terminal that lights the test light is the one from the ignition switch where you attach the buzzer + wire.
(Most likely the center terminal if your Corvair still uses bayonett base bulbs.)

On a similar note, I the guy on a motorcycle with the blinker always blinking. A buzzer would work but there's two blinker circuts. If I wired both to the same buzzer all the blinkers would blink. Any ideas?

Use 2 diodes one end connected together and to a peizo buzzer and the other ends connected to the sig lights leads. When properly connected they will operate the buzzer but not bleed over to the other signal light.

Don,t have any drawing prog on this puter or I would draw it out for ya.
