Those old cream separator bases were good for making an anvil stand or a vise stand. Dad put the anvil on a cream separator stand; it is still in the oil machine shed as it doesn't get used much anymore.
 
Just remembered that we also mounted a sickle grinder on one of those bases. They made handy stands after people quite using cream separators.

I've seen people use them as safety stands in the shop, but who knows what load they will support. The one in these pictures don't look as strong as the ones that we had.
