Bose CD equipped radios. Considering getting back to listening to a collection of 50-60 CDs that I packed away ten years ago when moving. Don't want to reuse the old jerry-rigged audio system I used to use. Are the Bose table top units as good sounding as the elderly speakers I still have? Bose always avoids $$ mention : ). I appreciate your Bose experience, thanks. Leo
 
The sound quality is exceptional except if you are in a different romm it is not as powerful as a full size stereo. Im talking about the wave radio. It cost me five hundred bucks but I think they gave me a year to pay it off. My first choice to listen to is vinyl.
 
Was that $$ with the added CD changer? My hearing aids cost 9 times that!
This unit would be in a large room with kitchen at one end and living room at the other, so there won't be anything but casual listening while in surrounding rooms. Thanks. Leo
 
I have the Bose wave radio with one CD slot, as well as a docking station for my Ipod. I like it very much. For the tv I have a Bose sound bar (except it's a small box about the size of a CD/BlueRay player). Really helps an old hard-of-hearing guy.

If you'll be patient, closer to Christmas Bose starts offering some packages and combos at attractive prices.
 
BOSE has really, really done a great job with the acoustics of the WAVE radio. It sounds terrific! Clean, clear audio. I would buy one in a heartbeat (if I had the cash).

I have noticed it's much better for playing back pre-recorded (studio mixed) music from CD's, IPOD, etc. It does not produce as good of "live" sound IMHO.

I actually can comment on this subject because i have 2 of them. The first i had for a few yeas when they first come out. loan it to one of my kids for a little party and for some reason never returned home. the second one come with a remote. Long story short they sound awesome. the prie tag was around 500 for each one and i bought them straight from Bose factory. Exceptonal sound you will be very pleased.
