Hey guys I got a new joystick controller for my kubota tractor (tool) what is the pressure relief valve for? how does one set it properly?
Jay.

The relief valve opens when you reach the end of the stroke on a hydraulic cylinder so you don't blow a hole in your hydraulic system from "dead-heading" it. If the oil has no place to go, it will just keep building pressure until something breaks, which can cause thousands of dollars in damage.

It should be set for whatever pressure your hydraulic system is rated for.

If you are unsure about what it's for you should probably get a qualified person to set it up for you! If it doesn't relieve at a safe pressure it could cause a bad accident.

if i am using a valve with a seperate relief than the tractor relief, i like setting my valve relief at about 50 psi less than the tractor relief. usually easier to repalce the valv ethan the tractor relief if there is a problem.. etc.
