gerber suspension multi pliers

I just bought a gerber multi pliers and was using them to crimp a wiring connecter and the pliers broke. I know that their guaranteed for life. But why buy something if you have to take it back or send it in every time you use it. Just disappointed that it's brand new.

Never had a Suspension, but been carrying a standard Gerber for years, and very happy with them. I have broken a couple over the years, but could not blame the break on them, I was going beyond what it was intended for. They replaced them anyway. Any can make a defective item, that is why there are warranties.

Gerber moved production to China, their new stuff doesn't hold a candle to the old USA built stuff.
I liked the design of the Suspension, but opted for a Leatherman Wave. Never regretted it.
