I have been wanting a cordless drill for a long time the one I had was a Colman 18volt paid $20 for it 8 years ago. Anyway I broke down and bought a 12 volt Hitachi it's the combo set Drill & impact -flashlight with a lithium battery. Gosh I hope it last because I spent $99.00
 
Bought 2 drill/driver/flashlight kits 5-6 years ago, they have given great service on many projects. Hope yours lasts as long as mine have.
 
Lots of contractors are now purchasing the HITACHI equipment. They seem to hold up real well.

I've had the Hitachi 12 volt set for 6 years now; still going strong. Really like the impact; it will do certain jobs much better than the drill.
 
You fellers are making me feel better about spending that much. My wife was with me when I bought them. They had 18 volt for $160 but my wife didn't think I need the (Deluxe set).
 
I stripped out the drill when it was 90 days old and I still have never found anybody that will warranty it.
 
I have the same kit, but 18 volt - have had great luck with it.
I messed up and left it outside with the case open and a battery in the charger. It rained overnight and filled the case with water - charger, drill and impact all under water. Dried them out, and they all work fine.
