Anybody made there own plant holder stands?

Picked up a John Deere fertilizer canister this past weekend, want to make a plant stand holder for a friend of mine for Christmas. Thought about just having a local welder/blacksmith do it for me, but can't be to hard and enjoy a good project. Just curious what others have came up with as know they are getting more popular and how others have did them. Pictures would be great! Thanks.

Agreed! I just thought it might be fun to take a few different idea's and combine them is all as it's going to a good friend of mine. I'll get some steel and give it a shot

When you figure it out post a picture, I been working on an old rusty planter box and can't figure out what to do with it now, maybe a cookie jar.
