Easy way to tell if electric insulation is oil resistant?

I want to oil a swivel joint in an old work light and it has lamp wire running through it. Looks like regular black vinyl insulation. Any quick way to determine if it'll hold up to some 3-in-one type oil? Thanks.

i'd find a silicone spray. you can find those with dielectric ratings..

I would doubt it is, machine tool and automotive wire are.

Would powdered graphite lube the joint?
