The original subject was "Lester Buildings".
I would not recommend buying a Lester Building at all. I bought one and just weeks ago I had to pay an Amish crew from Graber Bldgs. to come in and fix the mistakes and poor workmanship on it. These are what I"m talking about: Lester shorted me on dripstop for the house portion of my building even though I paid extra for it, they also shorted me on exterior plywood even though I was very specific telling them I wanted 3/4" plywood on all exterior walls. They also recommended one of their Lester Dealer/Builders telling me he did "good Work", which was a lie. Just weeks after they built me bldg. and left town we had our first rain at which time I noticed I had 25 leaks in my roof, being the Lester Dealer told it would be a $500 minimum for him to come back, I had to fix these leaks myself. It took me 2 years to finish and move into my Lester Bldg. at which time the more serious problems started showing up so I called in the Amish to check out my bldg. who found several problems with it, but before I paid them to fix it I first called in the Lester Regional Manager and asked him for help, but after he spoke with Lester Bldgs. Upper Management he told me that Lester Doesn"t feel any responsibility for my "Building Issues" and would not be helping me, so just weeks ago I paid the Amish to fix my Lester bldg. and this is what they found. (8) Roof Purlins not nailed, not one nail in them, the Amish actually pulled one up and out to show me and this would explain why it sounded like my roof was going to blow off on windy nights. A lot of soffit only had one staple holding it on and when the staples tried to go thru the steel they bent only allowing 3/8" to go into the facia board which would explain the rattling we were hearing, and Lester used vented soffit on the gable ends which should have been solid soffit. Gaps/openings in my roof valleys which allowed wind to blow into my attic and blow my attic insulation away in those areas, cold wind was also finding its way into my furnace plentum/duct work. 2 Bird blocks not installed, the ones that were installed were not nailed, again not one nail in them, I personally screwed everyone of them off myself. Facia boards barely on the trusses and nails missing the truss, we had to sister boards on the sides of some trusses. Facia cover not cut to fit properly causing the ends to dip down an inch. After I turned Lester Buildings into the Better Business Bureau they responded by putting most of the blame on their Lester Dealer/Builder, you know, the one they recommended to me as doing "Good Work". This Lester Dealer/Builder is C&C Construction, Willis Childress is the owner. And that"s why I say I would not recommend anyone buying a Lester Building. I would recommend buying a Graber Bldg. though, their built by the Amish who"s attention to detail, in my eyes, far exceeds Lester Buildings.
