I am looking at a Hobart gas portable welder. IT is an online auction. Just found out about it tonight. I will not have time to go look at it before it goes to auction. The welder is not that far from me. My youngest son is getting into welding real heavy. I thought this might be a good welder for him to start with as a portable.
It is FORD gas powered. It is 300 AMP, 40 volt, 100 duty cycle, 1800 RPM.
The model starts out with CR then either 304 or 314, or ???
I can't make out the rest of the model. It appears to be an older welder but in good shape. The fellow that has it knows nothing about it other than it worked when it was stored by his Grand Dad. That was 5-6 years ago.
I have used older Hobart portable welders they ran a pretty smooth arc.
