Harbor Freight Loctite

I got some red Loctite [well imitation red loctite] at Harbor Freight. It is the same size bottle as a 17 dollar real Loctite. They were on sale $1.59 each. So I bought five bottles . IT is also MADE in USA. I notice it will start to set up quicker than real loctite so you have to only apply right before assembly . Other than that I find no difference at all. Good store for red rags too . Not everthing at Harbor Freight is Evel----- Knevel.

I just bought a pack of their red rags - not the same red rags I'm used to.

The material is much thinner and more plastic-y feeling - not the thick cotton that I used to get.

I'll still use them - but they're not quite as satisfying to wipe my hands with as the "real" ones.

It shouldn"t start to setup till the parts are actualy together, could leave it on the part for hours ahead of time. It cure from the absence of air inside the close tolerances of nuts bolts etc. If its drying before its assembled that"s just red adhesive in a bottle I would say

No it dries between the bench and the end of the nut laying on the bench. It has the same Methacrylic ester or what ever the Loctitie chemical is.
