cudos to my YTMag friends - removing broken tap bolt

Thanks to my YTMag buddies that post good advice. I reviewed several posts about removing a broken tap and a broken bolt by welding a nut to it.

One of the end caps on my Krause disk had both a broken tap and broken bolt. I carefully used the torch to burn out the broken tap. I welded a nut to the broken bolt with my wire welder.

both came out clean to my surprise. I chased all the holes using a 1/2 -13 tap from my father-in-law's 1950 Little Giant tap set. the tap was well worn, but still chased the holes out pretty clean.

To my surprise, I found a brand new tap I had purchased but never put in the tap set. I re-ran the tap in all the holes.

Now, to make a tool-wrench-holder for the end caps so I can tighten the gang axles properly !
