Borescope for chimney inspection aka USB camera?

I can purchase a borescope with 16 or 30 foot USB cable to be used with laptop for not much money.
I wonder if this would work for chimney inspection?
Anybody tried something like this?
I think it is also called USB camera.

You could use a USB web cam but maximum cable length would be 16 feet can go longer with active hubs but then it gets harder to keep every thing together, you could use an active USB cable up to 32Ft. both cases need laptop no roof with you. you could use a wireless web cam and receiver attached to a rope or cable with a weight below it.

I have used one of these and they're not bad for the price (under $30 if I remember) but obviously you would need it on the end of a pole or rod because it can't be guided by the cable.

When I was cleaning my brick chimney on the old house I was renting, I just lowered a trouble light down from the top and could see real well down the whole chimney, was a three story house. chris

Duner, please let us know how well it works. After reading this post, my curiosity was peaked, so I went to Amazon and started shopping. I didn't look at all of them, but what I did look at, the reviews were not all that great. Seems like most of the comments mentioned that the LED lights were just not bright enough.
