Kunkle blow down valve

This valve is on a compressor and set to 125 psi but leaks even at low pressure. I tried turning it upside down, filling it with solvent and pushing the plug down so the solvent ran through but it didn't help. Are there any steam engine guys or boiler operators out there that know how to service it? It's a Kunkle Type 1 or Type 2. It looks like the collar has a rivet keeping it on and I don't want to take it apart till I know more about it.

Buy a new one,it's a throw away.Even if you could open it up and lap in the seat,it will still need to be reset to 125 psi.

Your best bet will be to get a new one. Mcmaster Carr has them for anywhere from about $60 for the ones with the lever to around $35 for the plain type.
