I've had this comp. for over 25 years, retired it to the garage after I got a 60 gal. for the shop, 6 or 8 yrs. ago. tank was getting soft a few yrs ago and had a few screws epoxied into it and the pressure turned down. Found a smaller 20 gal. oilless, blowed up comp with a good looking tank for 20 bucks, cut the platform off the old tank, welded it on the new tank, moved the plumbing 5 inches to fit the new tank, used some paint I had laying around, the red is at least 10 yrs old, and the only decals I had were a couple IH.

It looks too nice to use! Great job. What did you weld the platform onto the tank with? Mig- stick?

Did the same thing a few years back, only I didn't fancy it up, just left it as is. The tank is still pretty and red and has Craftsman on it. I use it to drag around for light duty, the one in shop is stationary.
