Kids and Grandkids coming out for our annual Sauerkraut making. Usually do 12-16 gallons in my old crocks. Haven't bought store brands for over 20 years.

Only real problem is getting my jars back :)

Hello,

I got the same problem, I'm thinking of putting My return address label on the jars. May shame some people on bringing them back. Lids were
$2.29 for a dozen yesterday,

Guido.

Hello old,

No squash this year! Butternut or summer squash. Planted plenty, rabbits are happy though!

Guido.

My garden tomatoes are just starting to turn red.

Lots of green beans and peas in the freezer. Will probably be my staple all winter.

Lima Beans are starting to fill out nicely.

Unfortunately we had a rather cold summer here is SE PA, so, veggies are taking longer.

Should have about 3 bu. of Stutgaart onions in about a week or so.

John,PA

Most of my squash is done for now but had lots if yellow squash and acorn squash but he bugs have pretty much taken care of them now

Hello REDNING..John,PA,

My tomatoes are a joke this year. I'll have to find a different source next year. Way too little show of tomatoes. Plenty of beans though. Hope to get some butternut squash, late season for them. Planted them 3 times...........Rabbits doing well!

Guido.

Hello old,

Got some LATE butternut squash coming, I hope.
Plenty of beans, zucchini maybe. OH yea I picked about 4 lbs. of white potatoes and 1 or russet potatoes! 1/2 went to my neighbor, BOY was he thrilled. Got tomatoes, peppers, and beans in exchange,

Guido.

Hello Zachary Hoyt,

On the scale of 1 to 10 beans were a 10 and tomatoes were a 1! Maybe better next year

Guido.

Everything in my garden has done WONDERFULLY this year! So far I have picked about 2-1/2 bushels of tomatoes, about 15 lbs of green beans, dozens of summer squash, radishes, carrots, onions, asparagus, and the list goes on. Best year I have had for tomatoes in 25 years of trying at this location.
I suppose the late spring and cool summer had something to do with the lateness of the crops, but still, I have no complaints!

Best potato crop I have ever had. I planted Yukon gold, Irish cobbler and Red la soda. I dug my trench, planted the spuds and added about a tablespoon of 12-12-12 between each two spuds. I don't know if that was it, but I'm going to do it again next year. Beans are just starting and the second planting is coming good too. Taking beans to church tomorrow. Rabbits have left them alone unlike the first planting. Tomatoes are just starting and the corn is setting ears. Late spring got everything behind. Acorn squash are just getting squash. Have a few peppers and jalapenos. Replanted peas for a fall crop. I didn't get any chard or beets in this year. May still try.
