Cleaned out tool box got handful of broken pin punches not guaranteed any got ideas on what to do with them besides scrap heap?? Most 1/8 to 1/4

Unless they are broken flush with the handle, grind them short and keep them. Every pin punch I've had break did it while trying to get a roll pin, etc that was stuck to start moving. With a short punch your less likely to break, or bend it getting it going, and then you can switch to the longer punch to get it on out of the hole.

I was told to do that when pin punches break too. They usually break back where the taper ends and the straight begins. Just grind them flat there and use them for 'starting' punches. After you loosen the roll pin and it 'starts' moving, then switch over to an intact pin punch.
