For Billy Shafer

Hi Billy.

I saw your post on Jeffcats thread on the small engine repair and wanted to pick your brain on an Onan genset.

I have a genset out of my bucket truck that is an 1800 rpm twin cylinder CCk engine with a very large cast crankcase (seems oversize).

It was originally setup for multi-station remote control and over the years the wiring got butchered enough that it was quite unreliable. However when running it purred like a kitten and the gen worked fine (4000 watt).

I would like to set the genset up for stationary use as a backup for a proposed new house and would like to power it with propane. It is an early 80's vintage.

Do you have any thoughts or info on this? Much appreciated if you do.

P.S. Anyone else with thoughts please comment.

Brad. You can't go wrong with the CCK.It is one of Onans best. The Rolls Royce of Onan. Started out in 1940 as the CK.If you will post the model and serial number. I can provide you with a print. Many people are looking for that model for a home back up.

If you will go over to smokstak Onan section. Post the full model and serial number.Plus an email address. My guys can send you all the information you need. Answer any questions you have. All for free.

Believe it are not.Onan also sold the CCK as a portable unit.
