I see responses below, but missed the original post regarding the infamous Onan MicroQUIET ( Quiet, Yeah right) 4 KW Genset?????????
As an RV owner for yearssssssss who unfortunately now owns one of those loud screaming 3600 RPM Onan Microquiet (Quiet lol) Gensets I can say this with experience.
For yearsssssss I owned RV's that used the older TWO CYLINDER 1800 RPM much quieter and smoother running Gensets. Then as a cost saving measure as its MUCH cheaper to build a single cylinder genset and have to run it at twice the RPM (3600 instrad of only 1800) Onan came out wit their so called Microquiet single cylinder 3600 RPM screaming loud genset. Its so cheap it doesnt even have an oil filter like all the old ones did.
If you had any experience with them or read up on them on RV Forums and Smokestack (has best Onan forum I ever saw) you will see many many many of them have the control board go bad which is like $500 to fix grrrrrrrr been there done that, or some have the ignition coil go bad, and unlike the older models you cant simply turn a power fuel metering adjustment screw in the carb bowls bottom to correct the fuel/air mixture grrrrrrrrrrrrrr and the new NON adjustable hard to get at carbs do gum up grrrrrrrrrr again
Mines still working after a new expensive board but Im on the lookout for a two cylinder smoother much quieter 1800 RPM unit to replace it when it (as many do) craps out grrrrrrrrrr
