I have a quad 300 and it has been a very good one. Has a scope with 5 lines to give you 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards lines. I have shot many a deer with it over the years.

I bought a Barnett Vengeance last fall and like it as it seemed better balanced if you had to hold it for any length of time. The only bad thing I could say was their scopes that come with it were very poor quality. I got three before I got one that was clear and then that one the cross hairs were at a 45 degree angle. Finally gave up and bought one from Cabelas.

Old:

Is that a "standard" bow or a Compound ? Also, for hunting purposes, what is the best type of Bolt to use - Aluminum, Fiberglass, WHAT ?

Doc

It is a compound type. I use aluminum bolts in it. The broad heads are a 3 blade that match the flecthings (sp). I have to date taken down a good many deer with it but the draw back is it is over 8lbs so heavy to carry

Your's can't be any heavier than mine. Way back in 8th Grade Metal Shop, I made a Crossbow out of an old rifle stock & an old car leaf-spring. It uses piano wire for a "string" and the Bolts are solid steel rods that are threaded on both ends for screw-on tips & fletchings. Silent but deadly, doesn't spook the Game the way a firearm does. Haven't used it in many, many years. Got it in storage & can't even remember exactly where it's at right now. LOL!
