John, I am glad it all worked well. I just don"t get the problems a lot of folks seem to get when the go to a sears store for a tool exchange. I bought my first set of too waaaay back in 1980. since then I have put together and additional 3 sets + 1 metric set buying pieces in pawn shops and garage sales, Whereever! over the years. 95%+ of them are well worn, very, very few were worth keeping, from from get-go! Most all pieces were promptly taken to my local Sears store to exchange for a better non worn, New tool. Only once or twice have I had any static from a sears sales person. I have simply informed the Newby I have been buying Tools since "Before they were Born" It is My call, Not theirs and to get on with it! ALSO...
It is the "Tool that is Warranted" not the "Original Purchaser" like some of the other name brand tools.
It is suppose to work just like that, every time!
Later, John A.

Have had several less than joyous dealings with Sears over the years on replacing family purchased/owned Craftsman tools from the late '40s/early '50s.

Guys, Just today I took in 3 pieces of a 4 piece Craftsman Grill set I got 2 weeks ago from some junk trader. Walked in, went to the Screwdriver section (they are there & in the Grill section too) picket up a new set went to the counter gave my phone # the man, He tapped on the register, handed me my trade out ticket and Brand New Grill set and out the door I went.... No cross words, No Static about some BS point! That simple!!!
Later,
John A.
