Don't know where to post, so here goes. Sick pecans

Beats me. I always kind of figured that some plants just take a notion to die, so they do.

Is there a count agent to contact? Or someone at the U of A?

There are many reasons....look here.....

Pecan trees thrive in the same parts of the country where cotton does, but almost any kind of herbicide can cause problems.

You didn't say so but if they are transplants, strees is likly the problem. It's true for most trees and especialy those with tap roots to transplant long as possible before bud break. Over/under watering is especialy critical the first year.
Bottom line, you need to tell us a lot more information if you expect good information.

We live pretty much away from the farms around here. Closest neighbor is about 4 or 5 hundred feet away. Cotton grown in the area after hay is bailed.

Richard:

If they are still in the pots as you say, they may be root-bound. Try putting them in larger pots so the roots have a chance to spread out.

Good luck to ya!
