Good source of construction screws

Can anyone recommend a good place to get good quality construction screws, preferably star drive, then square, last choice Phillips, at a good price? I might make a large enough one time purchase to make the shipping cost acceptable, so online suppliers could be worth taking a look at.

Thanks, Stan

Been awhile since I bought from them, but good service. Nearly anything you want.

Now, I've got a locally owned source, but he won't ship to you. Real important to give him local business to ensure he stays in business, the business his father started.

I think the spelling is FASTANAL.

They claim to have a branch in every county in the USA, as their goal.

Local source here.

Try your local stores if you have one available. They are a very good source for a lot of items and need your business to stay in business. We have a local family owned farm and hardware store that has just about anything you might want or need. If not they can order it for you. Price wise they are a little high on some things, but real competitive and cheaper on some others. I recently had them order some stuff for me and it was cheaper than I could order online. We have lost a half dozen similar stores in our area over the years and it is a real inconvenience to not have them available.

Yes Fastenall is a good choice. There are times that you can find some really screwwwwwy stuff with them. Ha ha. They will do next day special orders and NOW they have started to realize there was a problem. they now have coveniance size packs!! Less than 100 of something. Jeffcat

If Fastenal doesn"t suit You? I went to Menards yesterday. The carry a very large selection of construction screws. Bought a box of 1/4 x 2.5 inch deck screws coated for treated lumber for about $10.50. They had them individualy for 28 cents, box of 50, & went to I think 150. They have one isle about 40 feet long both sides dedicated to nails, & construction screws. Would be nice if a company like TSC were so stocked!

No Menard's stores here in Washington state. I looked them up on Wikipedia. They're the 3rd largest home improvement chain after Lowes and Home Depot, but they're only in 14 states in the Midwest. I'm probably better off dealing with Fastenal (local for me), or McFeely's (online).

Thanks, Stan

Not sure how many nut & bolt places we have around here but Fastenal seams to be more expensive than TSC. I like to use Mid State.

Menards is 1000 miles west of me in Marshfield but I stock up on my once a year trip to visit my son his wife and the grandchildren. Also stock up on T shirts and hats St Vincent DePaul.
The trip is coming up pretty soon.

"Fastenal"The McDonalds of fastener places. A bunch of pimple faced kids at the local one here. Looked at me like I had 3 eyes when I asked for some left handed bolts... Never again. After 3 phone calls and an hour of being jerked around I got a quote of $22 each, for something mother Deere stocks for $2

Around here (NY) local lumber yards are starting to stock star drives as pro's prefer them (me). They cost more but are worth it. Check locally may have to order for you still might be cheaper then shipping.

I work in a cabinet shop and do side jobs too building cabinets. We buy all are screws from CS Hardware. I think www.cshardware.com. Their website isnt the easiest to use but theie prices are hard to beat when ordering large quantities. If you order online look for the price discount. Sometimes 2000 screws is cheaper than 500 just becuase of the way their quantity price break works. I think their shipping is 10 percent of your order total.

Whenever I order I always have it within two days. Most of the time the next day. They are in Wisconsin

My experience with them has been pretty much the same. They have everything you might want but prices are higher than nuts on a giraffe.
