Hello all-- just came up with this old saw. it's complete, gonna try to make it run! anyone know what the fuel/oil mix ratio is? thanks.

My guess would be 20 to 1 I had one of those,I was told that it was considered a light wheight saw back then.

thanks flembo--lightweight? I'm already putting my big strappin grandson's name on it-too much for me very long-or at all--lol

Looks like Bantam covers a lot of models. Found a couple here:

You should also look up "Chainsaw collectors corner.com" It is out of the land up north and has a boat load of information.

I hear ya. I bought a Echo in 1975 it was also called a light weight I still have it but always reach for stihl or husky, the echo is a monster in todays standards. But I never had trouble with it and boy does it cut it is a great saw just heavy.

We had a Remington ( 660? ) many years ago. I great lump of a thing compared with say a Stihl 308 and dating from the days when there were hardly any anti vibration features on such tool so it was a beast of a thing to use. I remember it ran on 20:1 fuel/oil mix and of course the chain oil had to be pumped by hand.

Rather than running it at 20-1 or something like that with straight 30 weight, you'd be far, far better off to run it at 30-1 with a quality modern 2 stroke mix oil. You'd also be better off running gas with zero ethanol.

I've personally always considered the standard 32:1 using quality 2-stroke oil to be a good "safe" mix for any saw.

The heavier mixes like 20:1 are from earlier times using poorer oils not originally designed for 2-stroke engines.
