2stage compressor question

just rebuild a old champion R30. 2 stage compressor. I am in the process of setting up the pressure cut in and cut off settings, what is normally set at?

Thanks.

Cut in 125 - 150 psi. Cut out about 25 psi higher. How much air do you need? The higher the pressure the more it costs to produce it. Higher pressure will give you more standard cubic feet between cycles.

Normally (factory) 145-175. But you can set it to whatever you need. I run mine at 115-145, plenty of pressure for any of the tools I use.

With a magnetic motor controller (relay) you can install a second pressure switch and two way switch. You then can choose between a lower operating pressure for economy or higher operating pressure for stubburn lug nuts etc.

I have my two stage set to turn on (now but its adjustable of course if lower pressures needed) at 125 and off at 150. Plenty of pressure to make my impact wrench really do the job on stubborn or rusted nuts. It has a good load genie unloader which dumps head pressure for easy no load start ups and I think my safety pop off valve is around 160. I have a tank bottom drain to let water out as/if needed.
