mower knife

When the section if far enough gone to need sharpening what do you loose by sharpening? This goes for both lower and top serated sections. Top was always only on combine, never on mower, only bottom serated for that. But bottom always sharpen from top and that would continue till you were using a smooth section. Top they do get worn and just a very light sharpening will make them work a long time. And what is it costing you to sharpen them verses buying new? Only a little time and at a couple of dollars per section a little time is usually cheaper than new. If you only get a third of use after sharpening of new you are still ahead and then you can sitll do a sharpening a second time.

I'm with Leroy. I do it all the time on the combine. Much quicker than changing the sections. First sharpening still leaves them a little serrated.
