Masking tape?

Does any manufacturer make a roll of Masking Tape that won't be all stuck to it's self on the roll after a month of sitting? I wind up having two or three layers coming off at once and all glued together. Pain the behind, is what it is! :x

I have switched to Scotch Blue painter"s tape. Its expensive but I feel that it out performs anything else on the market. Tried cheaper brands and they suck.

I do have a couple of rolls of that for painting car parts etc. I forgot to state the intended purpose for the plain old masking tape, I like to use a piece to write on with a sharpie for marking parts etc. So, it cannot be too waxy. The blue tape is very waxy and hard to write on.

Don't buy the cheap no name stuff. Look for 3M brand. Professional paint stores like Sherwin Williams are a good source.

If you have an old roll of masking tape that sticks
to it"s self put it in the microwave for 5 to 10
seconds, depending on your microwave, and it will be
as good as new.
I didn"t think it would work so I tried it on an OLD
roll.....IT WORKS.

If your just marking parts just get a paint pen. It will not fall off. LOL The paint will come off easy with parts cleaner later.

X2 on that Bob

The price of the blue tape will make a person cringe but grin a bear it, you will be glad you did.

I put my rolls of masking tape in a plastic zip-lock
bag and seal it up. Has lasted for a couple of years
and still unrolls just fine.

I think it was 3M that the auto painters use in the bake booth. It is light green in color. Man that sure is good stuff !!! You can stick it to something and leave it on even in the sun for a long time and it still will come off.
