Hello ldj,

Got the same problem! Kitchen Aid, two of then. first junk.
Now this OXO after a few months is not cutting.
It did a neat job when new with no sharp edges. It has a lift for the cant top, and I wind up using it to force some cans open,

Guido

Same problem in our kitchen we went thru several electric ones and finaly went back to hand held but they aren't any better, we now have a OXO easy grip, had it about a year and it still cuts good. It doesn't look at all like Guidos pic.and don't know how long it will last 1 yr. is not a good test. My wife gets pretty upset when she has to fight with a can opener.

Hello flembo,

That opener actually cuts on the outside top can lip to cut the can . A smooth and clean cut ,but bigger cans are a pain and do not cut very easy,

Guido.

Ours cuts the top it seems to work ok but as I said haven't had it long enough. It's crazy when you think about it you can't even get a can opener that works well or lasts.
I know there are good ones out there but far and few between.
