580 front axle

Posted on the Case board with no results. Surely someone on here has changed the front axle on a 580ck or 580b. Need info on what
has to be done to get the axle to clear the pan.

I changed one a few years ago. Do not remember any real problems. You do have the cast iron pan?
The backhoe is next to my shop and I will check it today. If there was a problem, will post later.

Yes I believe it is a cast pan. If the pin stays in the housing, that is the front casting, the axle will not clear the pan. That is my first observation.
