eagle effigies

If you are referring to the J. I. Case eagles, many of them are "real". There have been some reproductions made. So some are real and some are fake and you would need an expert to tell the difference.
The one in the picture sold for $8,100 at auction just this past Saturday.

As a kid, I remember a Case Eagle that sat right by the road, at a dealership... Can you imagine how quickly it would be gone if it was still there?
 
If you are talking about Effigy mounds that the Native Americans made then I think they are real! There is a Effigy Mounds close to me, in Iowa. Went there when I was a kid and had a great time seeing old artifacts that the Native Americans buried with the dead in the mounds!
