Raven Lawn Mower at Lowes?

The original subject was "Re: Raven Lawn Mower at Lowes?".

I just got my Raven 6-6-2014 many improvements steering great motor runs great but the gas pedal a little to quick to respond like before. One think I really miss is they took away the tilt plastic knob. Have a family different sizes needing a wrench every time some one needs a change. one thing I think that will hurt is price 1000,00 more over the first price. Now 4 grand little pricy .If they had 220-240 power it would make some sense.

They're still trying to market those jokes?

$1000 more than last year, too...

I guess hope springs eternal that people will pay extra for a gimmick, but the reality is that by and large people are looking for the lowest-price piece of crap that they can get their hands on. People are just not going to pay $4000 for a $900 lawnmower and a $300 generator that have been duct-taped together. Especially, after the bad reputation they received last year.

They had some pretty serious problems with them last year, causing Raven to pull them off the market not once, not twice, but THREE times from what I've been able to find.

Thing is, from what I could see, they're not built any better than the $999 Troy Bilt riding lawn mower that Lowes also sells. Certainly not a $4000 machine unless they made some serious upgrades from what Lowes was selling last year.

Just got back from a service call. Found one of those things. Under a tree covered in bird crap. Owner told me that is the best place for it. In the shop four times and it still doesn't work.

Yep that is what you get from a spec company in Colorado who farmed out the construction to China.

Isn't offshoring grand?
