Tac s for Small Engines

Good Evening Everyone
Several days ago some one asked about Tac s for Small Engines . I know that Briggs & Stratton sells to different ones . One is called a Vib ra tac & can be used on anything that sets off a Vibration . The othe is a Tac/ Hour meter both reasonably priced . I have one of Each .
Also Have to Wireless Tag s for Small Engines ! is sold by Echo & the other 1 was sold by Shindaiwa Distributor . All were reasonably priced .

I have a after market that wrapes to one of the plug wires and it is a tac/hour meter. I like the hour meter. I have hour meters on all my garden tractors.It makes it easier to keep track of hours for servicing tractors.
 
I had one like you described. Battery went dead. Battery was soldered and glued in place. Couldn't get battery out, damaged unit.

Can you replace your battery? If so, where did you get it?
 
Have had a Tiny Tach for many years; works like a charm.
I installed an alligator clip on the grounding wire so it can be used on other applications without tools.
Google Tiny Tach for info. Prices range from $20 to $40.
 
George the one I have on mine has been on over 5 years and no problems. When I put it on it said it needed no conections to electric or batteries. I couldn't tell you how it works but it does work.
 
I have an old Stewart Warner tach that is manualy operated its driven by contact with a rubber tip no batterys it was in a box of stuff I got at an auction you touch the tip on what ever you are timing
 
I"m interested in knowing what you have and interested in in knowing how to change the battery inside the tac. My tac only lasted a few months before the battery died and I couldn"t do a thing about replacing it.

John, I got my tac off ebay, made in china. They gave me a full refund. Cost very little. Mine had a built in battery which I couldn't replace. It was clued in, soldered in. I tried to remove it and cracked the LCD. Junk at that point.

Here is one similar to the one I had. Only had to wrap the wire around spark plug wire. It worked great for just a few months then it got goofy because of dead battery.

George my tac-hour meter is a SenDEC one wire and as far as I can find out it is a sealed unit. Like I said mine has been on for about 5 years. I haven start it this year yet and it might be dead.
