Anyone familiar with these?

Selling on ebay. I could use a set of 3/4 impact sockets. Don't know if I should look for deep or go with the shallow. My Craftsman set is shallow but is not impact. Not going to get used every day but several times a year is likely.

Williams is a good name brand, they are owned by $nap on, and usually 1/2 to 2/3 less than $nap on for the same quality.

I'd be a little suspect. They say Williams, yeah. I have some that I picked up at a pawnshop and garage sale. They all have "J.H. Williams" and either of their tradenames "Superwrench" or "Superatchet". And new they are prohibitively expensive. Those look like knockoffs to me. But for occasional use they will probably suit your needs. Just my nickle's worth.

It reads right in the description Made in Taiwan. I guess somebody bought out the good old Williams name. Does say lifetime warranty which is better than the 30 day of another import somebody posted.

Yes, Williams now owned by Snap On. They do carry a line of made in Taiwan tools. Don't know if they are the same as the Blue Point that Snap On sells that are madi in Taiwan also. They also sell Williams USA tools which are probably equal to Snap On. I recently bought a Williams S 52A ratchet, new, which has the Snap On date code on it. Very nice ratchet, but not the same as the old Superatchets.

There really is no comparable set at Harbor-Freight. BUUUT if you read the warranty it is manufacturers defect only [which means you broke it it was your fault].The harbor sets are 10 piece at about 89 bucks.Maybe easier to get broken replacments from.I have never bought that type of tool at harbor freight but if they replace a broken socket it might be easier. I like Harbor -Freight for things like rags ,magnetic trays, tarps. Tools not so much. Craftsman is still the best warranty of tools .Snap_on drivers whine alot and you have to wear them down. Maybe someone will have some other good reasonable price brand with easy replacement .

Yep,Had 'safety training meetings' allthe time at the factory I worked at. The most rediculous was 'Safe useage of hammers'.I guess some folks have NO clue!!!!The safety supervisor/officer was the most clueless of all!

I have set of Harbor Freight deep impact sockets that are 25 - 27 years old. I cracked one; took it back to the store afew years ago and they told me to go get a new one from the rack - no charge.

I use Harbor Freight tools never had a problem, but with one wrench which was replaced with no questions asked. Sockets are good of course anyone can break somethings

We have been buying some Williams stuff and everything we have purchased so far has been very good. Some of it is Taiwan, some USA made. The combinations wrenches are USA and have become my favorites.

The old line Williams tools were top line tools in the old days.I don't know about todays Williams.

I'm a retired railroad Machinist/mechanic and
worked for CB&Q, Burlington Northern, Burlington
Northern Santa Fe, The Railroad supplied the
tools, and on CB&Q and BN it was Williams,Really
great tools. They were flat black, not chromed.
On BNSF we had Snap-On, and could purchase them
at "Railroad cost", which was about 60% less
than tool truck cost. So Most of my tools are
Snap-On.
I've heard that Snap-On, rather that build a new
factory, to get more production, just bought
Williams, to get another factory.

Appreciate all the comments. Still uncertain as I hate buying stuff from Taiwan. Need to do a little more research. When it boils right down to it I mostly need one socket to take my duals on and off. I could still use the craftsman set with a hand ratchet for everything else. Have to give it some thought.

I have a complete 3/4" drive socket set(non impact), as well as a 1" drive impact socket set from Harbor Freight. Perfect low cost for my occasional use. Just remembered the 1" air impact is HF also.

As stated, Williams was a good old name.

Somewhere I've seen a special DEEP (like several inches) socket for duals. Gempler's? Shoup? Or you could make one.

I got some Williams of my grandfathers but wright proto and s-k mostly make up my good stuff, I love s-k ratchets the gears are just so smooth turning
