I need to replace my pressure switch but Sears want $116... for a replacement (Z-D24918). I see on e-bay many switches that are priced MUCH less and appear to be the same or higher amp rating. Any recommendations?? THANKS!!!!! Ed

Installed a $20 26 Amp Ebay switch last month.
Looked to be as good a quality as OEM and working
OK so far, time will tell.

Got My last one at NAPA 20 years ago. Make sure they give you the RIGHT one, They sold Me a high press. one, I needed the LOW press. one. Good thing I stood there and watch it build press, When it didn"t shut off I turned off the breaker.

(quoted from post at 13:18:18 04/02/14) I just Googled it, E-bay has some for $13.95 with unloader.

I'm sure Grainger has them, cost more than $14. but you get good service at Grainger.

My last experience with a Craftsman air compressor is that if you need a pressure switch you will have to buy it directly from sears. IIRC they have their pressure switches designed and built and sold so that only Sears can carry them...even tho' IngersolRand built the compressors. I tried several others but ended up returning them. I had to bite the bullet and pay the price or throw away a good air compressor. Back then mine was appx $50, when all the others were $12.

$116 seems high...but it is a Craftsman

I have replaced a couple of them on my Craftsman compressors. I got my replacements from Grainger. All you need to do is match up the pressure rating and the current capacity from a chart of the available replacements. There may be a difference in the unloader piping. Simple to get some 1/4" copper tubing and a couple of compression nuts and ferrules and re-make it. The last one I bought cost about $35.
