vacuum complaint

Have a shop sweep made by shop vac-looks like a good idea but it plugs up fast with fine dust from concrete shop floor. If you read the fine print in the owners manual it says not for fine dust--what is it made for then?? Wife bought it for me so can't send back. Anyone have a solution??

Go to a big box store and get a fine dust filter for it. I have 3 shop vacs, all have the fine filters. Makes a big differance.

I wouldn't think that having a finer filter would help, it seems that it would just plug faster with all the fine dirt it will be trapping.

This is an upright vac just like the ones for house use with no filter as the bag itself acts as a filter

I've had some Shop Vacs; I always found that most other brands were better. Sure wouldn't buy another one.

First I use a 4 ft broom to sweep pole barn. Then I have a 3/4 hp squirrel cage blower from a furnace on wheels. Open doors, put on respirator, and send fine dust out the door, the place it came from. Leaf blower helps get the stuff against wall.

I think this is what he is using.
I am not sure what you could use to catch the fine dust so it doesn't clog the bag. One thought was to use sweeping compound but then you would be starting with the bag partially full of the sweeping compound.
