The back bearing on the Neptune is replacable. I did mine several years ago. The machine was just about 10 years old when it died. You will have to search online for how to repair it. Maytag will only want to sell you a new tub. There is a seal kit and two bearings needed. I bought the seal kit online and went to my local industrial bearing supplier and bought the bearings. I took me about 3 hours to fix it. I think it cost like $45 for the parts.
