Hello
Model fav6800aww and it won't pump water out or spin. When it does spin is very slow and clothes are not dry! The manual is in the washer but I'm not going there until later today.
any one have a clue of what it is going on. It is 10 years old, thanks........

Guido.

Hey Guido, When it was spinning , did it sound like a freight train running down the tracks ??I had to replace the main tub in mine 2 years ago, everyone who has anything to do with them says the back bearing isn't replaceable.. When I was working for a living , my wife had to add water to the drum along with her majic concoction for getting my greasy clothes clean.. It appears that the concoction along with higher water level caused the bearing to go bad.. It lasted about 10 years too.. Sometimes the motor will fail and cause a weak spin, or the belt, The circuit board will also cause a weak spin.. It's located in the front on the right side.. They are a great washer , but very tough to diagnose..

After thinking about it more, belt tensioner or you might need a circuit board since it's not emptying.. I have a "Maytag" man that uses used parts to diagnose problems as printed circuit boards are tough to diagnose.. I also had to buy a motor for mine.. One speed was off. I got it off Ebay [new]..

The back bearing on the Neptune is replacable. I did mine several years ago. The machine was just about 10 years old when it died. You will have to search online for how to repair it. Maytag will only want to sell you a new tub. There is a seal kit and two bearings needed. I bought the seal kit online and went to my local industrial bearing supplier and bought the bearings. I took me about 3 hours to fix it. I think it cost like $45 for the parts.

Good Luck.

There is a filter/trap by the pump. Probably plugged full of something. Good cheap place to start. If she won"t drain, she won"t spin...

Guido,
If yours has an extra rinse setting on it, try it on there and see what happens. I have a Maytag Centennial model something or other that did the same thing. After some research, I found out it was some kind of switch sensor that was the problem, and that if you leave it on the extra rinse it would work. I have left mine on the extra rinse setting for two or three years now. One of those round-to-it things I haven't gotten around to. Somewhere here I have the part number. Of course yours may be something entirely different, but may be worth a try to see if it works for you.
