They work slick

I used my rounded bolt extractors again today. I didn't have a lot of hope, it was a very tough place to get at, but I tapped the extractor onto the rounded off bolt, pushed down hard on the ratchet head and applied the torque and the bolt broke loose. I had used one a few years ago on a manifold bolt and it had worked slick there too. Everyone should have a set.

I know what you mean I have a set from 1/4 to 1'' can't imagine life without them. used on on a broke off wheel stud on truck last winter on side of road.

All extractors work SOME OF THE TIME. No method works all of the time. I like easy=outs for the occasional easy ones. I no longer break them since I learned their limitations. Try simple first. I have drifted them out with a scratch awl a couple of times. There are about 2 dozen ways and I keep looking for more

These are NOT EZ outs. Try looking them up.

I got a craftsman set, think I bought it at auction. It basically got
me out of a jam, on a electric over hydraulic valve. Plastic cap
would NOT come off, I ground the buggered up plastic off, and
hammered the doo-hickey onto the exposed metal (basically a top
hat nut), and hooked up the new Ryibi 18 volt impact to it, and
hammered away. Nut didn't come off, but was able to unscrew the
whole valve. Once that was done, was able to get the beat up nut
off, by grinding through it , then squirting kroil down into the now
exposed threads. Figure that set would be worth the new price, for
just this job.

I agree they work good. I took out most of a set of chopper knives in a 3970 with one. 1/2 grd 8 bolts with the heads rounded from being in the chopper too long. 6 point impact socket would slip but the bolt extractor would bring them out. Even broke a few of the bolts with a cheater pipe on it.
