Drawer Liner Preliminary Update

I got the New Pig Grippy Mats today. 10 in a box, around $35 so they're not what you could call cheap.

Advertised as 16x24, actual measurement on my batch was 15-3/4 x 24 +/- 1/8th. Most were nice and square, one was trimmed a little cockeyed, but overall, I'm very happy with the quality.

The 15-3/4 was perfect for the drawers in my Husky box, width on mine is 23-1/8, so I had to trim one strip off each one.

The adhesive on the back is very effective, but it's also reusable. If you don't quite get it flat or lined up right, you can peel it up and reposition it without affecting the quality of the adhesive.

Initially, I'm pleased and think it was money well spent. We shall see how well it resists sliding and bunching.

Spongy, but not the open weave like some of the cheapos.

Yes, about 1/8 thick, perhaps a tad less.

Another thing that has me curious is their absorbent qualities. Three items of interest in that department:

1. Will they keep tools drier when temperature changes cause condensation? (unheated garage).

2. Will they hold the moisture they wick off the tools and make the situation worse?

3. I use cotton balls soaked in camphor oil to deter rust. Will they enhance or inhibit that function?

Enquiring minds want to know... :)

I had a friend that cut up corrugated cardboard for the bottom of the drawers maybe 15 or 20 years ago. Seamed to worked for him.

The look like the ticket,,, I have found pig mat to be biodegradable are at least the white mat for oil  If I don't use it up in a few years after I open a roll it will start to fall apart.. I do not know the age of the roll before I got it are how long I had it before I opened it up....

I will stay with rubber backed indoor outdoor carpet if I have to line a box it has served me well... I have a few Mac tool box's that came with a thin black liner that have held up well...

I was going to suggest that as it is what I use but I was afraid you would think/know me to be CHEAP. But really I still have Visa and could buy something fancy.

I used to work for a car dealer and years ago every use car got a new trunk mat cut off a big roll, had a thin rubber backing and bluish vinyl surface like all the older cars had.
Bought a new Snap-On side cabinet and it had the same stuff for drawer liners.
