The RainBird controller is messing up. It is a little over 3 years old. It is losing the water days programmed for 3 days a week during the winter; it keeps going back to watering 7 days a week, which is what we use for the summer.

I keep re-programming it; it will work for 1 day and then goes back to 7 day watering.

Hello Dick2,

Set you program switch to B and reprogram it again. IF it acts the same way it may be the controller. You can call them as well,

Guido.

years ago i quickly realized that a home IRRITATION system required you to be an expert. numerous leaks, failed sprinkler heads, ground movement, sod growing up over heads and controls hit by lightning led me to eventually valving it off and forgetting about it.

My son was in the irrigation business and did my lawn. The Toro controller quit after 4 years, took it to Toro dealer and they gave me anew one. Check warranty on yours. mine acted the same. good Luck

There are many controlers under each brand having different programs no standard ways. I would first make certain wherther it's nessary to "erase" a program to alow perminate new one to be entered. If that doen't turn out,go to each day in present program and enter how long each station should water on each of 3 desired days. For other 4 days, enter the least run time alowed for each station to effectivly prevent watering on those 4 days.

What model is it? I would try using another program like said below and see what happens. That's funny, we are blowing out all the systems we service to get ready for winter! Going to be in the 20's in a few weeks they say

I may have stumbled on a solution. There isn't any "SAVE" button for the controller after the new settings have been made. The manual didn't explain anything about that, but on a hunch I pressed "PRO" (for Program) right after I did the last setting. It looks like that is their unwritten way to save the settings, because it has been working the last couple days as it used to work.

Manual is confusing and almost worthless. BTW, it is not a Rainbird; it is a Hunter controller.
