Black pipe or galvanized

Making a seat post for a tractor and need to turn down a 1 1/2
Inch pipe a few thousands,would it make any difference which pipe I use??

Bfullmer.......as Ultradog sez, it doesn't matter but when you turn GALVANIZED, you remove the ZINC. It is only a few thousands thick. Use the cheaper black pipe. ........Dell

if you can find some use schedule 80 pipe instead of the standard wall schedule 40 pipe, it will have the same outside diameter but will be stronger and less likely to bend due to the thicker wall of the pipe.
