If you are referring to the source, or which company made the tools, go down to the garden tractor forum. (Under the post, "Vintage Craftsman Mower: no idea on year or value". scroll down until you see "Sears Product Codes," This link lists just about every company that has ever made anything for Sears. The first three digits of the model number indicates which company manufactured the tool.
