Converting a GX390 to electric start

Trying to convert my Honda pressure washer with a GX390 to an electric start. Got a kit on ebay. What a battle getting the flywheel off. The flywheel nut was put on with lock tight. Won't be put back on with lock tight. Had to make metric extension bolts to pull flywheel off. Then I find out the hole where the starter goes measures 6.2 mm and the starter's diameter is 6.5 mm in diameter. Does anyone know what should it be, 6.2 or 6.5 mm?

Thanks
George

The description on ebay says the hole might need some grinding.

Do you have the means to cut the hole in the block or is a machine shop going to do it for you.

keep us posted.

Yes, I cut the piece out the back using a 2.5 inch hole saw. The factory machine part is .3mm too small. How do you get it larger?

Didn't read anything about the starter not fitting the hole. If I had known how much fun this was going to be I wouldn' have ordered it. Going to call the person who sold it tomorrow.

You are absolutely right, called deezee and they said I must enlarge hole 3 mm. I think everyone needs to know this ahead of time. I must have missed it.

I think I can do it with a 2.5 inch bi-metal hole saw. Been to two places this morning and both are out of the 2.5 incher.
