Does anyone have a good used master link press for sale. Looking for a portable type to use on machines.

I had a difficult roller chain recently. I used a modified VICE-GRIP. Chainwas about an inch per link. Vice grip I used was designed for a welding clamp with c-shaped jaws. A little grinding in the neck of the jaws, and one if the jaw face to fit the round link, and I had a very viable tool.

I bought two of them at our local bearing house, one for size 60 and up, and one for 50 and smaller. They both work really well and I wish I had gotten them years ago. Also bought a 'chain puller', it is a small tool that pulls your two ends together and holds them so you can get the master link in. About $100 for all three. I have already paid for them working on round balers for people.

Google 'chain breaker'. there are some deals around.
