Patching Concrete Pole Barn Floor

I've got quite a few bad spots in my pole barn floor. It looks like the smooth surface lifted leaving pocketed spots up to about 1/2" deep exposing the rough stones in the concrete. The builder had tried cleaning it with muriatic acid and filling it with some type of supposedly self leveling concrete filler. Didn't work and it also lifted. The concrete has also developed v'd cracks that I'd like to fill. Other that replacing the entire floor or having a additional layer of surfacing concrete poured on top of it what are my options. Being retired I have more time than money available. What to repair it so my creepers roll smoothly on it as I still try to do most of my own car repair. Was thinking of possibly using hydraulic cement to repair it. Any and all suggestions and solutions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Son-in-law used to do drafting/form designs for the concrete industry. Said there was some sort of epoxy they used between old and new concrete pouring. Might check into this with a ready-mix supplier.

the way we used to patch potholes in concrete bridge decks is chisel it out to 2 inch depth, saw cut the 4 sides but make sure the cuts are wider on the bottom than the top, this makes a mechanical bond for the patch, then use a bonding agent on the old concrete to adhere the new substantial strength concrete patch--we found that epoxy patches never lasted as the MOE was quite different and the expansion characteristics weren't compatible

Picked up some patching cement at HD and it hardens in minutes but is really sticky and very hard white surface once cured. I believe it was a Quikcrete product referred to as high early something or other. The biggest problem is getting it in place and troweled before it set.

What ever you do the work is in the prep. Just like painting you have to do a very thorough job of prepping before you do any patch. A 2 inch deep patch with the bottom wider that the top is a good suggestion.

When I worked for home depot they sold a product that was made for the concrete problems you're having. It was called concrete resurfacer by quikrete. I think it was a latex based product. As long as the directions were followed and extreme care taken with surface prep prior to using it people had good results.
