Have a 60 gallon upright single stage compressor with a Milton filter regulator and run a 50 foot hose from there still getting a lot of water thru my air tools, has any one used an air dryer from a truck or is a Milton dryer the way to go ??

There are many ways to do it, but probably the easiest and least costly would be to place the moisture trap at the end of the 50 foot hose, and then run another hose from there to your power tools.

The compressed air needs a chance to cool down before the moisture can drop out. With the air filter right at the compressor, the air has no chance to cool down before it passes through the filter.

30 ft of 3/4 or larger pipe or cu tubing then a water trap will remove the water. Avoid low spots where puddles can form.

I've got an old Bendix dryer from a truck in my shop. I mostly use it for sandblasting and painting, but it does get all the moisture, and can flow a lot of air. I stick a blow gun in the purge valve once in a while to empty it out. I've got a 5 hp 80 gal compressor that is set up on a skid so I can move it with a pallet jack. The dryer is mouted to the skid and I just run a hose, my shop isn't that big to need piping.
