As indicated by a couple respondents the solonoid coils were failing. I ordered a set from RepairClinic. (Not the cheapest I found, but have had good results from them.) Order went in just before 8 pm, was packed and in FedEx hands by 10 pm. Delivered to me before NOON TODAY. HOLY COW, BATMAN! Actually, had the new parts in before noon. Dryer is running normally, wife is happy, I have clean clothes.
In RepairClinic"s defense, they are in same state, but 16 hours to my doorstep. WOW!
 
Glad you were able to fix it. I have had good luck with repairclinic.com as well. They are about a fifty minute drive from my house. I needed a part for my wife's oven, and it would be special order from the place I normally go. This was around the holidays, so that wasn't acceptable. I placed an order for pickup then drove down to Canton. I had the oven back in service the same day.
