Meguiars cleaner wax

I read on a Kawasaki forum about using Meguiars cleaner wax to clean and remove scratches on motorcycle windshields. So I bought a bottle and tried it on my face sheild.

After trying different things, I put a small amount of the cleaner on both sides and rubbed it in with my fingers. Then used a paper towel to wipe it off. Well it does a good job, not perfect, of removing some of the smaller scratches, but a bang up job cleaning. The face sheild I posted was just about worthless.

Thought I may pass it along. Made me a believer.

Meguiars makes a lot of nice products. Their waxes are the best I've ever worked with on a car. Their interior cleaners are much better than Amorall - no greasy shiny residue.

Hello George Marsh,

Have you tried some of the cleaner wax on head lamps plastic? They sell special kits for that , and it is pretty much a total waste.
On the other hand that cleaner wax may just be the ticket!

Hey Guido.

I experimented with a few things for headlamp lenses until I found the right combo.

I wet sand with 1000 grit sandpaper to remove scratches, move to 1500 then 2500 grit.

Then using a rotary buffer with a wool bonnet I apply Scratch Off compound.

Start slow then increase to high speed and buff thoroughly.

They look like brand new.

Hello Brad Buchanan,

That is the only way I know it works. Takes some time and patience though. I have one in the family of cars that needs it BAD! I need to get the finer stuff. My stock is only up to 1K,

Guido.
